Night Light Walk for Shelter

This evening, we had one of those experiences that stays with you long after it’s over. Our team joined the Royal LePage Night Light Walk in Belleville, a national fundraiser supporting the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and, locally, Three Oaks Women’s Shelter.

We walked in honour of my Nana, Connie Carson. Her name, her heart, and her spirit were with us every step of the way. She spent her life helping people, offering kindness, understanding, and a place to land when someone needed it most. Walking in her memory, surrounded by our community, felt like the perfect way to carry her legacy forward.

Proudly we were able to raise over $7500 and were named the top fundraising team. A HUGE accomplishment thanks to our incredible donors and supporters/clients.

About the Night Light Walk and the Shelter Foundation

The Night Light Walk brings Royal LePage teams together across the country to shine a light on the issue of domestic violence. It raises funds for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, Canada’s largest public foundation dedicated to supporting women’s shelters and domestic violence prevention programs.

What makes this cause so meaningful is that all of the money raised stays local. Here in Belleville, those funds go directly to Three Oaks Women’s Shelter, which provides safety and support for women and children escaping abuse. They offer shelter, counselling, transitional housing, and a network of care to help families rebuild their lives.

This year, Team Connie raised $7,500, and together the Belleville Royal LePage offices raised more than $21,000. Knowing that those funds will make a difference right here in our own community made every step worth it.

Giving Back with Every Sale:

At the Parks Group, giving back isn’t something we do once a year. A portion of every home we sell is donated to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, helping women’s shelters and violence prevention programs across Canada.

Over the years, we’ve also supported local food drives, Christmas Wish Tree, and manycommunity fundraisers that bring comfort and hope to families who need it most. Our work in real estate has always been about more than houses. It’s about helping people find a sense of home, safety, and belonging.

Carrying Her Light Forward

This walk was more than a fundraiser for me. It reminded me how much one person’s kindness can ripple through others. My Nana showed me what it means to care, to show up, and to make people feel safe.

I can’t think of a better way to honour her than by supporting causes that help others find the safety and peace everyone deserves. To everyone who donated, shared, or walked beside us, thank you. Your generosity helped us reach our goal and keep her light shining.

💜 Here’s to love, community, and carrying forward her light.
